This week in science we began our Science Olympics! Students first divided into teams, choosing a team name, flag and victory dance. Our first event was building the tallest tower possible with only 8.5x11 paper. While this was frustrating for some, the teams came together and supported each other as they successfully achieved their goal! After the team building challenge, students competed in different events involving measurement, converting between the metric system and US standard units and finding creative ways to remember the order of prefixes. Next week we will continue our competitions, while we review science that has been previously learned and kick off the year together!
